Small Wonder Records label discography
Looking back, few people gave more significant punk acts a start than Pete Stennett. Via his Small Wonder label run from his record shop in Walthamstow, Stennett put out a succession of classic singles and EPs by a long list of bands who are now household names. The Cure, Bauhaus, Patrick Fitzgerald & The Cockney Rejects are just a few who received their first small taste of stardom via passing him a demo tape. Arguably the most significant of all was the release of the first Crass record, "The Feeding Of The Five Thousand" which with typically poignant Crass turn-of-phrase was named after the number of copies pressed. It was the problems involved in the pressing of this release that inspired Crass to start their own label.
