Top Rank Records label discography

Set up by the J. Arthur Rank Organisation with the first release in January 1959. Managed by Dick Rowe assisted by Tony Hatch, the label also released material from smaller American companies. This contained an eclectic mix from Doo-Wop (Crests, Flamingos etc) to Rock (Freddy Cannon). British hitmakers were Craig Douglas, Bert Weedon, John Leyton etc. The label closed as an independent company in August 1960, but the name continued with EMI releasing material under licence until April 1962.
